Spring is Coming… Ways to Have a Better Spring Mindset

Spring is Coming... Ways to Have a Better Spring Mindset

Samantha Frank, Staff Writer

Spring is coming soon, and it’s the perfect season for a fresh start and to clear your mind. The flowers are blooming, birds come out, and it gets warmer. “It’s out with the old and in with the new!”  There is no better time than now to push back all of your winter blues and have a fresh start. Think about what’s working in your life and what’s not, and how to fix it. Spring break is a great time to let go of your old self and create a kinder, smarter, more productive, different you. Here are some ways to help make positive changes for your new spring self.

Set up a Daily Routine for Yourself

Try to make a schedule that you are able to follow every day, it doesn’t have to be too specific, just make sure it is reasonable, and you don’t get too overwhelmed. Did you know that 83% of people have a morning routine that they follow? Make different schedules for each day if you have activities after school, and on the weekends when you don’t have school. Try to have specific times when you go on screens and try to limit your screen time to no more than 2 hours a day. Also, try to have times when you get fresh air or exercise even just simply by going for a quick walk. Don’t forget to set an appropriate amount of time for homework and studying!

Spend Time With Friends and Family

Having downtime with yourself is good, but not too much. It is also important to spend time with your friends and family! Hanging out with friends and family causes less stress, and more emotional support, and helps personal growth. Even taking time to facetime a friend is good! Your family and friends are the best people to go to if you are feeling stressed, and want somebody to talk to.

Start Spring Cleaning

Spring is the perfect time for de-cluttering! Having a clean room means having a clean mindset. I always like to end my day with a clean room, so I recommend at least tidying up before you go to bed. Decluttering your space also gives you a sense of accomplishment, and it gives your brain something else to focus on if you are stressed. If you are ready to go the extra mile for spring cleaning, it’s always awesome to help out your family by cleaning your sibling’s room or tidying up your kitchen.

Be The Best You Possible

Besides being productive like the other things I have listed, it is also so important to be the best you possible. I know this sounds cringy, but it is so important to be kind to others, but also to yourself. Being kind puts you in a better mood, as well as the person receiving the kindness. “Kindness is Contagious!” Make sure to be yourself, and don’t let anyone change who you want to be. You are perfect the way you are! Make sure to be brave, take risks, and be a difference maker.
