As we end 2024 and are beginning 2025 here are some events to look out for in the upcoming months.
Political Events
Last year, the presidential election took place on November 5th. The final polls ruled that Donald Trump and JD Vance will become the new leaders of the executive branch.
Events this year:
– Presidential Inauguration, Jan 20th – This is when the president-elect (Donald Trump) and his Vice President (JD Vance) are officially sworn into office to take control of the country.
Sports Events
Last year at the Superbowl, the San Francisco 49ers were bested by the Kansas City Chiefs. The score was 25-22. This year, there are many upcoming sports events this year, starting with the Superbowl!
Superbowl LIX, Feb 9th – The Superbowl is considered one of the biggest American sporting events where two teams (the best of their leagues, NFC or AFC) compete for the trophy, a super bowl ring, and a lot of money.
Several other major sporting events in early 2025:
– NBA All-Star Game on February 16
– Daytona 500 on February 16
– MLB Opening Day on March 27
– Boston Marathon on April 21
Film Releases
Last year, there were some very exciting releases such as Wicked with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. This year, we are expected to have a Minecraft Movie. This movie, starring Jack Black as Steve jumps into the Minecraft world and all of their journeys, join them as they journey the nether, fighting piglins (a special pig-human mix), skeletons and mobs of any size.
