Do you see that book sitting there on your shelf?
It’s dark, it’s mysterious, it’s Verity by Colleen Hoover. A book you can not afford to miss out on:
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling author who has had a tough past and is in search of a bright future. Jeremy Crawford is a bright spirited man who is the husband of Verity Crawford, a best-selling author who was just in a devastating car crash that left her paralyzed and with the mental capabilities of a young child.
When Jeremy meets Lowen for the first time, he is immediately impressed by her unique writing skills and sharp mind. He hires her to continue writing Verity’s book series and immerse herself into Verity’s old life; which means reading all of her novels, learning everything about her, and living at the Crawford household. When Lowen enters Crawford’s home, her first assignment is to look through Verity’s old novels. But, when she encounters a manuscript that Verity intended for no one to read, she is immediately disturbed by the bone-chilling secrets it reveals.
Lowen chooses to keep the manuscript a secret from Jeremy, who is already suffering from the loss of his two twin daughters and the accident his wife was involved in. But, as Lowen continues to read the manuscript, she also feels like it brings her closer to Jeremy, which is why her feelings for him intensify and she eventually falls for him head-over-heels. Lowen knows that Jeremy is a married man, but she also knows that the woman he is married to has many dark secrets that could change everything she has with Jeremy if Lowen were, to tell the truth about her. Verity by Colleen Hoover shows readers that appearances are not always reality. One never knows what others are hiding.
Personally, I found Verity a very thrilling novel that left my jaw wide open by the end. It was nothing like I had expected at all because it was filled with twists and turns that gave it so much character and suspense. It was not similar to any of Colleen Hoover’s other novels because not only was it a romance, but it was a psychological thriller that really got you thinking and predicting what would happen next. I really felt like it was a fast-paced book that was good from the very beginning, but it really blew my mind towards the end due to the unexpected twist that Colleen Hoover gave us. Overall, it was a unique, thrilling novel that was nothing like I could have ever predicted, and something I highly recommend.
