Basketball is an iconic sport. It is played all around the world and is a great way to gain speed, agility, and teamwork skills. The National Basketball Association (NBA), is the most popular basketball league in the world and is very selective.
Only a small percent of basketball players make it into the NBA. It only has 30 teams! One of the reasons the NBA is so well known is because of the players, and the even better teams. Last year in the championship the Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks in a 7 game series 6-1. This year Celtics fans have high hopes that, once again, they can take home the trophy. Take a look at some of the important information and facts for this NBA this season!
Trades
Every new season many trades are made between players. Some popular ones this season include Donte DeVeinchenzo transferring from the New York Knicks to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Klay Thompson transferring from the Golden State Warriors to the Dallas Mavericks, and Chris Paul transferring from the Golden State Warriors to the San Antonio Spurs. Trades are so important because they make teams better. An example of how a trade would work is say the Cleveland Cavilers want to trade players with the Memphis Grizzles. The Grizzles would tell the player about the trade and that player could either accept or deny. If they accept, the trade has to go thought the NBA office to make sure it’s fair. If they deny, then everything stays the same.
James Duo
Bronny and Lebron James are the first father-son duo to ever play in the NBA. They both play for the Los Angeles Lakers who were the NBA champions in the 2019-2020 season, and the first team to ever win the in-season tournament which began in the 2023-2024 season. Unfortunately, Bronny had to leave the NBA and will not be playing with his dad this season.
Lookout
The NBA season 2024-2025 has some great teams and even better match ups. If you want to watch good games this season look out for the Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. the Denver Nuggets, or the New York Knicks vs. the Miami Heat.
