It’s getting colder, and what’s better to warm up the day than hot chocolate and cake? Well, you can have it all with this hot chocolate mug cake.

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup flour
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1/4 cup hot cocoa mix
• 1/4 tsp baking powder
• 1/8 tsp salt
• 1/4 cup hot water
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tbsp chocolate chips (milk or dark)
• marshmallows (optional)
• whipped cream (optional)

Directions:

Add the flour, sugar, hot cocoa mix, salt and baking powder in a small bowl. Mix until fully combined. Add hot water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract and stir. Pour into a large size mug and add the chocolate chips on top. Microwave for 60 seconds. If it is not done at the end of 60 seconds (you can tell by putting a toothpick in; if it comes out clean, it’s ready), put it in for 15 seconds more, and continue to do so until fully baked.

Top with marshmallows and whipped cream and enjoy!

Mug cakes are a fast, easy dessert, and they can come in many different flavors (cinnamon, birthday, chocolate, vanilla, etc.).
