NFL Update #3

Updates from the NFL
NFL Update #3

We had a shocking week from the NFL. Here are some of the top stories.

Cowboys are Shocked

The Dallas Cowboys had been on a 5 game win streak-longest in the NFL and were looking like one the best teams. The Buffalo Bills had high expectation this year but faltered and have been struggling. If the Cowboys would have won, the Bills would have been eliminated from the playoffs. What we saw was the Cowboys sleeping through the whole game, as they had just clinched a playoff position. The Bills however, played just how we thought they would, like a team that needed to win to get in. Running back James Cook ran all over the Cowboys defense for 176 yards and a touchdown as the Bills demolished Dallas 31-10. This game elevated Buffalo to 8-6 and kept them alive. The Cowboys, meanwhile, fell to 10-4. But, the game didn’t matter as much for them especially considering what happened to the Eagles.

Philadelphia Slumps at the Worst Time

The Philadelphia Eagles started the year 5-0. They continued to play great and were 10-1 just 3 weeks ago. However, we have seen the team fall into the worst slump possible going into the playoffs. The good thing is: the Eagles have already clinched a playoff spot, but after getting crushed by the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys in consecutive weeks, things weren’t looking good going into this week. We saw the Eagles lose in a heartbreaker to the Seattle Seahawks. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is not throwing well and his team is not scoring great. The Eagles fans are hoping for a turn around before the end of the season because now the Dallas Cowboys have passed them and are the division champions for now. The Cowboys will get a home playoff game and the Eagles will not if this continues.

Multiple Divisions Going Down to the Wire

Playoff season is always exciting. With all 32 teams trying to get in, there are always divisions that will be close. First, the aforementioned NFC East is close as The Dallas Cowboys (10-4), and Philadelphia Eagles (10-4) are very close, with the Cowboys holding the slight edge. The AFC North has been close all season and the 11-3 Baltimore Ravens hold the edge but the Cleveland Browns (9-5) can get there with a few wins. The AFC South is a battle as the Jacksonville Jaguars 8-6, hold an incredibly slight edge over the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans who are also 8-6. This division might be the closest of them all and will be fun to watch. Finally, the battle of the terrible teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 7-7 and tied with the New Orleans Saints, 7-7. The Atlanta Falcons are close as well at 6-8. These divisions will also be very close and fun to watch.

Chanze’s Prediction

Super Bowl: Ravens vs 49ers: Ravens 38, 49ers 27.

If the Cowboys can get “hot” and go on a streak, they could make it to the Superbowl. But beating the 49ers at home will be the tough.
